CIEM is organized in a way designed to offer you rapid, effective medical follow up in a friendly setting. You will be welcomed as soon as you arrive and your assessment will be carried out under optimal conditions. You will have a dining room and office available for your use, tests will be performed on site and the results will be forwarded immediately to the team of doctors, who will listen attentively to what you have to say and explain your assessment to you under conditions of strict medical confidentiality.
In order to meet your time commitments as far as possible, CIEM can see you from as early as 7.50 a.m.. You will be met by an assistant who will accompany you throughout your assessment. Once the blood and urine samples have been taken they will be analyzed immediately in the CIEM laboratory, which is on the premises. While this is being done you will have a chest and abdominal X-ray taken by a radiology technician. Under the supervision of a radiologist, you will have intermittent abdominal ultrasound scans and an examination of your thyroid will be carried out; the thickness of your carotid arteries will also be measured in order to detect possible cholesterol deposits. Further investigations (audiogram, tonometry, etc.) will finish the first part of your assessment. The investigations, which are performed fasting, will not last for more than two hours. The assessment is organized so that it flows seamlessly with a minimum of delay. You will then be accompanied to the dining room where you will be served breakfast. A wifi link will enable you to remain in contact with your company if need be.
Taking care of you in a friendly setting
The speed with which results are produced enables the |
doctors to examine you in a manner consistent with your time commitments. You will always see two doctors: a specialist in internal medicine and a cardiologist. They will conduct your assessment jointly. The internal physician will ask you about your past history and lifestyle and will perform a full clinical examination.

The cardiologist will go over some parts of the discussion again, measure your respiratory capacity and, if you have no contra-indications, subject to your consent test your exercise capacity.
An in-depth confidential assessment
CIEM attaches very great importance to listening to its participants and conducting genuine dialogue. The doctors will comment on your examinations and explain the results obtained and, where appropriate, advise you on how to improve your lifestyle. If necessary they may also recommend that you have further investigations. Their observations will be included in a review letter which will accompany your health assessment. CIEM observes total medical confidentiality: all of the documents will be given to you and you alone, and will be your property. You alone will decide what to do next where applicable. |
